HBT Critical Technologies Team Challenge: Exploring the Inductive Automation Build-A-Thon

Innovation plays a vital role in driving progress in the constantly evolving field of industrial automation. Inductive Automation, a prominent provider of advanced industrial automation software such as the Ignition SCADA system, recognizes the significance of innovation. That’s why they have introduced events such as the Build-a-Thon, an exciting display of creativity, teamwork, and technological expertise.

The Build-a-Thon is an annual event that goes beyond being a competition; it celebrates innovation and creativity. The event brings together teams of engineers, developers, and visionaries from all over the world who share a common passion for pushing the boundaries of automation technology.

At the heart of Build-a-Thon is the challenge of designing and developing innovative solutions using Inductive Automation’s Ignition platform. Participants use the platform’s toolkit to tackle real-world industrial problems. They can address issues such as optimizing manufacturing processes and improving facility management systems.

Participants are encouraged to think creatively, exploring unconventional approaches and experimenting with emerging technologies. They have access to a range of resources and expert guidance from Inductive Automation’s experienced professionals, which enables them to turn their most ambitious ideas into functional prototypes within a limited timeframe.

At the yearly Build-A-Thon, a group of judges assesses each team’s project based on its innovation, functionality, and potential impact on the industry.

Hoffman Building Technologies has a team of automation experts in the Critical Technologies (CT) division. However, in February, the CT team decided to test themselves outside the Build-A-Thon competition. The aim was to compare their skills with the best integrators in the country.

This team of automation experts from Hoffman Building Technologies’ Critical Technologies (CT) division, driven by a desire to test their skills against the best integrators in the world, took the challenge on a Saturday outside their regular work hours. The results were astounding! They would have secured the 19th position in the competition.

We encourage you to learn more about the skills, talent, and competitive edge within HBT’s Critical Technologies division. This powerful team is making significant progress in system integration across the industry.

They embody one of the Hoffman family of companies’ Core Values: Grow Personally and Professionally. We are curious. We ask why. We speak up. We learn why smart people with varying opinions think the way they do, and we learn from them. We do more than what is required. We own, document, and learn from our mistakes. We ask “How can I make our company/community/family better?” Excellence is a personal value we practice every day.

Congrats to our HBT Critical Technologies warriors!
