On Oct. 21, we opened our expanded Raleigh office to customers, contractors and partners, and the Hoffman Family of Companies now works from one office in Raleigh.

What happened at the open house

We hosted the open house at our Raleigh office, 2741 Noblin Road, Suite 100, Raleigh, NC 27604. The goal was simple: bring the people we work with together and show them the latest building automation solutions.

About 175 clients and partners came through. Another 25 or so vendor and manufacturing partners set up booths. Multiple professional development hour (PDH) sessions ran throughout the day, and guests also got food trucks, a golf simulator and cornhole.

“Our customers, contractors and partners are what make this work, so having them together to see what smarter building automation can do was the right way to launch our new Raleigh office,” said Will Carter, Director of Sales at Hoffman Building Technologies.

One office for the Hoffman Family of Companies

The open house also marked a bigger change. HBT and our sister companies, Hoffman & Hoffman, Hoffman Mechanical Solutions and Hoffman Hydronics, now share the same office in Raleigh. We already had space in the building at 2741 Noblin Road, and we have expanded to take over the whole building. We have served the Raleigh market for more than 20 years.

HBT began as the controls division of Hoffman & Hoffman, a leader in high quality HVAC products since 1947, so this is a reunion as much as a move. You can read more about our history.

What we do from the Raleigh office

We design, install, commission and service the control systems that run a building’s heating, cooling, air quality, lighting and security. Our work falls into three branches: construction, for new building and retrofit automation; service, for preventive maintenance, retro-commissioning, energy optimization and 24/7 emergency support; and Critical Technologies, which handles SCADA, PLC and industrial controls and data center automation for projects nationwide.

As a vendor-agnostic master systems integrator, we connect the equipment and platforms a facility already has into one system rather than locking it into a single brand. You can see the full range on our systems integration page.

Who we work with

Our customers include hospitals and health systems, pharmaceutical and life sciences companies, data centers, universities, K-12 school districts, government agencies, laboratories, industrial manufacturers, hotels, office buildings and indoor agriculture operations. Many of these facilities have no room for downtime, tight environmental requirements, or both. Read more about our work in healthcare and data centers.

Near Raleigh, our work includes the Alexandria Real Estate Equities campus in the Research Triangle, BASF pharmaceutical facilities and multiple UNC Health locations. At Moses Cone Health’s North Tower, our controls supported 40% energy savings compared with similar hospital projects and 99.8% uptime. In data centers, we have completed more than 25 hyperscale and mission-critical projects since 2006, representing more than 5GW of capacity across the U.S. and Europe.

We are 100% employee owned, we have more than 40 years of building automation experience, and we are targeting 25% annual growth through 2030. Find the rest of our offices on the locations page.
